Cooperation between G17 PLUS Women's Network and parties from Sweden and Great Britain


      As a result of the successful cooperation between G17 PLUS and the Conservative Party of Great Britain, last weekend in Belgrade a two-day seminar was held on the subject “Women in politics”. Besides the representatives of the Women's Networks of these two parties, representatives of the biggest Swedish oppostion party, Moderatema, also took part in the seminar.

      The representatives of these parties talked about sexual equality, the position of women in politics, and the economic position of women in the countries of the EU and Serbia, as well as about the possibilities to use the experiences of the representatives from Sweden and Great Britain to help women in Serbia to improve the quality of life and society in general.

      Representative of the Conservative Party Hannah Hall expressed strong support to G17 PLUS in its efforts to achieve sexual equality in Serbia, and expressed expectations that G17 PLUS Women's Network will make good use of the new knowledge and experience from the seminar.

      The representatives of the Swedish party Moderatema expressed hope that the cooperation initiated on this seminar will successfully continue in the future, and that the activists of G17 PLUS Women's Network will succeed in bringing Serbia closer to Swedish standards in terms of the position of women in society.
